The Upper Mill 

The Upper Mill still has an operating wooden water-wheel that can be visited by the public on a self-guided free tour. Run for many years by the Rowe Brothers, the mill had wood and metal shops, a blacksmith, and a grist mill; today it is home to attractive boutiques, a café/bakery and bar, and a music shop.

Glass Blowing

Gillinder Glass, founded in 1861 by England-born William T. Gillinder, has been creating glass for over 150 years. Starting with a factory in Philadelphia, Gillinder later built a glass plant at the 1876 Centennial Exhibition. In 1912, his grandsons purchased a glass plant in Port Jervis, NY, which opened in 1913 as Gillinder Brothers. Today, it operates on the same site under sixth-generation owner Charlie Gillinder.
